Microgreens are vegetable greens harvested just after the seedling sprout has developed its first set of true leaves. There is such a wide variety of edibles that can be grown as microgreens, and they make a delicious addition to your kitchen garden.

Growing microgreens is quite easy – especially with Rocky Point Seed & Cutting Mix! Simply pick your choice of microgreen you’re going to grow and sow into seed trays or recycled containers like butter and yoghurt tubs filled with Seed & Cutting Mix. Keep them on a warm windowsill, or hothouse where they can sprout. Most microgreens will be ready for harvesting from just a few days to a few weeks.

The most popular varieties are produced using seeds from the following plant families:

- **Asteraceae**: Lettuce, endive, chicory and radicchio
- **Apiaceae**: Dill, carrot, fennel and celery
- **Amaryllidaceae**: Garlic, onion, leek
- **Amaranthaceae**: Amaranth, quinoa, swiss chard, beets and spinach
- **Brassicaceae**: Cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, watercress, radish and arugula
- **Cucurbitaceae**: Melon, cucumber and squash
