With Easter, St Patrick’s Day and Mother’s Day all landing in autumn there are many gardening gifts and tasks that need or can be done and achieved.

For the mums - The gift that keeps giving for mums, grandmothers, and anyone else for that matter.

• Flowering choices full of colour to brighten anyone’s day: Chrysanthemums, orchids, cyclamen, anthuriums, begonias.
• Indoor potted plants are still on trend

Easter School Holiday Activities - Teaching children how to garden and have a love of gardening gives them a life skill that they will carry with them always. This school holidays why not look at trying some of these activities.

• Set up a worm farm
• Start a mushroom kit
• Sow seeds and propagate some cuttings
• Pot up their own indoor plant
• Get creative pressing flowers
• Go on a bug hunt. How many species are in your backyard?
• Create a veggie patch plot that is theirs alone.

Green with envy -  Don’t forget St Patrick’s Day! Mark the day in your diary for planting sweet peas. If you are in a warmer climate zone it is probably best to wait until April-May when the weather has cooled down significantly.
