Plant Profile: Beetroot

Beetroot is an ideal staple in any vegetable garden. Not only are they delicious, they are really quite simple to grow from seed, and they don’t take long until they’re ready to harvest!

Profile-BeetrootTo harvest, gather the base of the stems and twist the root out of the soil, or use a fork to dig them out.

Leaves can be twisted off and cooked in the same way as spinach, or just snip the leaves off into the compost heap.

Beetroot love a rich, well drained soil. Turn ActivGrow Soil Improver into your garden beds prior to planting beetroot.
